HAIR CARE

How to maintain your wigs

WHAT TO DO:

  • Keep wigs sorted in hair nets, wig stands or in a wig bag. This is to keep hair and style intact.

  • Wash and Condition your wigs regularly at least every two weeks.

  • This prevents hair from building grease.

  • If hair is not regularly treated this can also make hair become dry especially if heat protector is not used.

  • Wash lace closure/frontal gently.

  • Soak lace closure/frontal in shampoo to soften the glue residue before attempting to remove the glue.

  • Always let air dry.

  •  Use a heat protectant when straightening or styling hair to minimise split ends and heat damage.

  • Ensure when combing or brushing your wigs you start from the tip to the roots this reduces shedding and tangling.

WHAT NOT TO DO:

  • Do not let wigs remain unkempt as this will reduce to longevity of your wig.

  • Do not use heavy hair products as this will make your hair become too greasy and difficult to style.

  • When washing wigs use shampoo to wash off excessive grease but always use conditioner.

  • Do not put wigs in microwave, washing machine and in a boiling pot.

  • When washing lace closure/frontal wash gently. DO NOT use hard brushes to clean off glue residues.

  • With coloured hair use Purple shampoo to reduce brassiness.
